School's Out!

The school year has gone by so fast. It seems like it was only a few months ago when I started Fifth Grade, and now the year's over. Throughout my time in "Cats Fifth Grade" I learned many things in all subjects, especially in Math, Spelling, and Social Studies. In Math I learned a lot about measurement, area, perimeter, and percentages. I also learned how to square, cube, and other ways of multiplying numbers. For example five to the fifth power is 3125. In Social Studies I learned about two specific times that I enjoyed the most the Civil War and The Lewis and Clark Expedition. My last favorite subject was Spelling. I learned so many definitions from spelling homework/tests. I didn't only enjoy work and subjects though. I had a lot of fun out of the classroom. Recess was very fun this year. Mostly every time my class and I would play a sport which I enjoyed because last year was the exact opposite. Field trips were another fun "Out of the Classroom Activity" My favorite field trip had to of been "The Pool Party" I had so much enjoyment there. Ms. Kurtz wasn't there because, of her wedding. We won't be able to call her Ms. Kurtz anymore just Mrs. Susser. Not only did I finish Fifth Grade, Kailee also finished First Grade. She had Mrs. Lindstrom for her teacher. She's had a great year with all excellents on her report card. Now that school's out we'll be doing many things over the summer. Swimming, hanging out with friends, and going to the zoo are some things that my family have planned to do. The year's over and "Schools Out!"

Weekend Funtime

For my birthday my Aunt Ashley invited me to go to Pinetop and snowboard. I was looking forward to it all week, but it turned out that the weather was to bad. The electricity was out, the pipes were frozen, and all the roads were closed. It was Arizona's worst storm in thirty years! We had already rented a cabin, snowboard, boots and everything, but we did get a refund. Since we couldn't go she's let me sleep over and stay for awhile. We played Madden NFL O8, Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?, and Scrabble. In the morning we went and had breakfast burritos with bacon. Around lunchtime we went and bowled four games. My high score was only 170 because, I kept rolling it wide left. After bowling for awhile we came home and had boneless buffalo and terryaki wings. They were really good considering that they were homemade. For the rest of the day we pretty much hung out and talked. We had a late dinner around 7:30, but it was worth the wait. My Nana made chicken and cheese enchiladas with her really good salsa. The rest of the night I layed on the couch watching the Suns game. And now I am at my Nana's place typing this up. It was kind of disappointing, but were still able to go a different week. Overall, it was a fun day.

Silent Night

Just the other day I was playing my saxophone with my dad. He had a couple of music books that he got out so I flipped to a page in a Christmas book and saw Silent Night. At first I had a lot of trouble because, there was a lot of new notes, but eventually I finally got the hang of it. Here is a video of me playing it.

I kind of hesitated on the second to last note.

Kailee's First 100 Piece Puzzle

The title tells it all. Yesterday Kailee completed her first hundred piece puzzle without any help. She got frustrated, but kept trying, and she completed it. Here is a pic.

Our School Assembly

At Andersen, our assemblies are absoulutely crazy! It was a spirit assembly, so we had to dress up in sports outfits. When we first got there we had to do the wave and sing Who Let The Dogs Out. My favorite part of it was the Andy Awards and the Teacher Awards.
Andys are little stuffed astronauts that you win for behavior in Specials and Recess. At the end of the quarter the class with the most Andys get their picture taken and each student gets a medal. The top two classes with the most Andys are my class and Mrs. Ragatz.
The Teacher Awards are three different awards that you can win from your teacher. There's the Orbital Improvement, the Galactic Attitude, and the Stellar Citizenship. I got the Stellar Citizenship witch is the best one you can get. Here's a pic.

Me with my award.

Water Time!

Today after school we got to play in the backyard with the hose! We turned the slide on our playground to a waterslide, and sprayed each other. Cameron had lots of fun too! We let him slpash around in some water, and play with the hose. We all had a good time.
